Watercolor & Chinese Ink on Terraskin – organic abstract

Or·gan·ic  (ôr-gān’ĭk)  adj.

  1. Of, relating to, or derived from living organisms: organic matter.
  2. Simple, healthful, and close to nature: an organic lifestyle
  3. Resembling a living organism in organization or development; interconnected: society as an organic whole.
  4. Constituting an integral part of a whole; fundamental.
  5. Involving organisms or the products of their life processes.

Organic Art, to me, means something natural, free-flowing, atmospheric – it creates a feeling within the viewer – maybe a primitive atmospheric memory or serenity.  We have examples of organic art all around us, such as the speckling of burnt sienna in the car bumper that has rusted or the peeling white paint from a window sill.  Organic art is familiar to us in its fundamentals of nature.  Organic art can capture a moment of time, showing us the beauty in our ever-changing world.
